Seven (7) personnel from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Planning sectors of the Local Government Unit of Jabonga underwent a training on the operation of Flood Event Visualizations and Damage Estimation (Flood EviDEns) last November 28, 2018 at Caraga State University GIS laboratory.
The said activity is part of the extension project of the CSU BS Geodetic Engineering Program in collaboration with the Geo-SAFER Agusan Project through the Caraga Center for Geo-Informatics (CCGeo) which aims to capacitate LGU Jabonga with regards to the utilization of the Flood EViDEns system as a tool on its DRRM operations.
Personnel from the Application Development Team (ADT) of the Geo-SAFER Agusan Project namely Edsel Matt Morales, Project Officer II, and Elbert S. Moyon, Computer Programmer III, discussed and demonstrated the Flood EViDEns system. Participants also had a workshop on the actual utilization of the system. An open forum also allowed the participants to raise queries about the topics.
“We are thankful that your Local Government Unit sees the importance of this system especially in your Disaster Risk Reduction and Management initiatives,” said Engr. Jojene R. Santillan, CCGeo Director.
